Recently Kristin and I accepted the Campus Pastor position for Victory Church in Norman Oklahoma, the home of Oklahoma University. After 4 incredible years of being on staff at Crossroads Church and spending the last 6 months as interim Lead Pastor of Oak View Church, it is now time to say good bye and move onto the next work God has called us to. To say we're experiencing mixed emotions is simply an under statement. Saying good bye to your family and friends, as well as the place your dreams first began is an extremely difficult task to handle. While at the same time pursuing an opportunity that encompasses our calling, our passion, our dreams and so much more is one of the most exciting things we've done as a couple.
I love what Paul says in the book of Acts.
"And now, compelled by the Spirit, I am going to Jerusalem, not knowing what will happen to me there. I only know that in every city the Holy Spirit warns me that prison and hardships are facing me. However, I consider my life worth nothing to me, if only I may finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me—the task of testifying to the gospel of God's grace.
The part I love most about this passage is "And now, compelled by the Spirit, I am going to Jerusalem, not knowing what will happen to me there." For us at the moment, all we know is God is calling us to move to Oklahoma and be apart of a great work.
As far as:
Where will you live?
What's your new phone number?
How long will you be there?
When will you be back to visit?
Along with a million other questions; we're just don't know yet. The two things we do know is this is where God is leading us, and there will be some challenges along the way. Something I have learned to call "Certain Uncertainty" - undoubtedly knowing this is God's will despite all the doubts your facing.
