Yesterday was "Daddy-Daughter Date Day." We began with coffee and a sippy cup and ended with a walk in the park. No stroller. No diaper bag. No toys. Just my daughter and I in a park full of sculptures, bridges and fountains. It was awesome! And once again, I found myself learning from my 11 month old who was far more amazed with the feeling of grass on her bare feet and some tiny flowers than anything else.
That's when I realized the need to slow down and enjoy the small things in life. To live at my daughters pace rather than my own. To find value in the things that often get overlooked. While cherishing the simple moments we have with those we love. Maybe you can relate.
There were other moments I was relieved by her inability to ask questions.
